My Hainan Holiday!

okay. so i'm here to blog about my trip. i've given up on doing up the pictures nicely. so i'll just upload it on facebook. hahas. 60 photos per album. erhmm.. kk. oh well.. i'll just upload day by day. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=66095&id=597806496&saved#/photos.php?id=597806496 (if u can go to it. if not just sign up, wont harm.)

Day 1
Arrived at HaiKou International Airport. Met my 1st Granduncle, my uncle, GrandAunty, aunty and my cousin. The people there talk real loud. The shopping centres have lots of stuff. They sell bags, wallets of every kind of famous cartoon character; Mickey mouse, Tom & Jerry, Betty Boop, Bani Rabbit (funny spelling. Tsk.), etc. yupp. The weather there is great in the day. You can just wear long sleeves shirt and not feel hot. The wind is real strong and cold in the day. Dinner at 6+. I thought that the sky was really dark already at 6+ in Hainan. But i realise that it was tinted windows of the mini van. Tsk. If not the sky is about as dark as SG. The people are not afraid to die in way that they just cross the road like the it's theirs. There are street lights, but the don't switch it on. Dinner was like a 2 digit course meal. _ _ course meal. And up till the end when all of us are full, my relatives still ask if we would like to eat rice. lolz?! Also, the people smoke everywhere. Even at the dinner table. lolz. Checked in to WANG HAI INTERNATIONAL HOTEL. 4 stars. And it was the end of the day.

DAY 2
Breakfast-ed in the hotel. Pao, porridge, blah blah.. A little marketing at RT mart, one of the newer shopping centres, nearer to the airport. Bought dry supplies for the outskirt-stay and the villagers. We're going to stay at the outskirt for 3 nights. OMG! Mental preparation. At the mart, tote bags had to be put into another bag which they provided and then be locked up, scared that people might just put things into it and steal it. Well, it shows that the stealing rate is quite high. The mart is real big. Then we went to fetch Aunty Shirley who came 1 day later. And drove to my GREAT GRANDMOTHER'S house, in the outskirt. She is 99 YEARS OLD!!! Lunch-ed at some run-down old place. The chicken is very veyr very fat. The food was edible. Stayed at a $10+ motel: clean toilet, aircon, tv. Then went to the village, Popo's old house. Quite cool. Went to see the fields where they planted different veggies, very big and nice. Lots of fresh air. The hammock is really nice to sleep/rest on, below the trees, cooling. Met many relatives there and my good-looking cousin! hahas. psps.. tell you something; the guys in hainan island are not too bad looking. Compared to SG guys, much better. :D Played with the bamboo ladder, hand-made. They lighted fire-crackers which mark a happy occasion, welcome back. Dinner at the yard of the village house. Food is almost edible, better if you have really tough teeth. Took the car back to the motel, my hainan uncle 20+ YO (already married with children) drove. Bathed, ate bak kwa and butter cake (we brought). then ZZZ... :)

DAY 3
Woke up at 9am. Probably the latest among the 1st 3 days. Breakfasted at a coffeeshop. Not too bad. Hainan noodles, liang teh, hard boiled eggs, milk tea. Settled the transport, we;re using a mini bus. Went to Ah Neh's house, saw sch children coming home. went to 2nd and 4th aunty's house. not bad, quite nice.

DAY 4,5,6,7,8.. all went well. hahas. :D
